The weather was actually pretty warm Saturday as participants braved the 46 degree water of Lake Boutin in Trail of Tears State Park to raise money for Special Olympics Missouri. Filled with great costumes and fun people, the event raised over $39,000 to support a great cause!

Well this isn’t something you see every day! As part of a Washington, D.C. holiday tradition, Santa, along with his elves and reindeer, braved the frigid waters while putting on a water show on the banks of the Potomac River in National Harbor on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011.

Last Thursday, Cape Girardeau’s Main Street reopened. Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., along with local Cape Girardeau city and business officials, reopened Main Street after being closed to the public since March in order to reroute the road around the casino site. Said Cape Girardeau Mayor Harry Rediger, the street closing “was a tremendous inconvenience [...]

My best friend Gopal recently married his longtime girlfriend Joanna in Northern Virginia. Gopal, coming from a traditional Indian family, had several days worth of beautiful and elaborate traditional Hindu ceremonies leading up to the traditional American wedding ceremony on Saturday. I have been fortunate enough to have photographed a traditional wedding in India before, [...]

According to Red Star District resident Peggy Benaivdz, the Mississippi River floodwaters have receded at least two [...]

The second day shooting the powerful flooding in the Southeast Missouri area proved to be eye-opening. Literally just a two-minute drive from my home stands 1207 North Main Street – currently surrounded on all sides by four feet of water and climbing hourly. A mountain of sandbags and barriers are all that protects the four-year [...]

Every year before Christmas, my mom and I designate a day for a holiday baking extravaganza. We spend the entire day making an absurdly vast array of sweet treats. There are a handful of signature items that we repeat annually: buckeyes, truffles, chocolate covered pretzels, church windows, butterscotch haystacks, and chocolate jam bars. We usually [...]
